NGB in the News

Founded in 2001, NGB’s software systems allow automated remote management of all IP devices on the network by the operator. This control has tremendous implications for operators for providing new services, managing existing customers, as well as self administration of services by customers--all while preserving margin.

NGB’s technology is centralized network software, thereby eliminating the need for CDs, client software or expensive additional network hardware which would otherwise be required to control a device on the network. NGB’s core technology includes DACS (Device Application Control System) and SmartBridge. DACS and SmartBridge allow NGB systems to work in parallel with an operator’s existing or future systems. This parallel system architecture also means fast deployments without complex or risky changes to an operator’s curent systems.

NGB’s technology has already been deployed in large scale systems domestically, as well as, internationally. Our systems can support millions of users.

Forbes Next Generation Broadband's Self-Activation Service Now Available to Cox Northern Virginia Customers
HERNDON, Va., Nov. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Cox Communications Northern Virginia announced today the launch of Auto Install(TM), a new technology from Cox Communications and Next Generation Broadband that gives customers the option of automatically installing their new cable modems and quickly activating their high-speed Internet service without the need for a technician visit. This new feature is available to all Cox Northern Virginia customers effective immediately.

The Abridge NEW TECHNOLOGY: Next Generation Broadband's Install System
Next Generation Broadband has introduced its Bundled Install System, a technology that automates the service activation process and customer management tasks involved in adding both voice and high speed data customers at the same time. The company develops device control software that operates on a centralized network basis, allowing cable operators to automate management of individual IP devices and subscribers.

CED NGB system enables self-activation of data/voice bundles
Next Generation Broadband (NGB) has introduced a software product that automates the service activation process and customer management tasks involved in adding both voice and high-speed data customers. This combines the capabilities inherent in previous NGB products, one dedicated to managing the activation of data customers, and another for VoIP customers.

CED NGB bows VoIP installation platform
NGB is aiming to do for VoIP what it has already done with high-speed cable modem services - ease and automate customer service hookups and lower installation costs. The company's new VoIP Install System is designed to help cable operators automate the service activation process and other management tasks associated with adding a new voice customer.

Multichannel Next Generation Orders Up On-Demand Bandwidth
NGB came up with a new product that will allow cable broadband-data subscribe rs to buy high-speed-Internet access time on a per-usage basis. The new Pay As You Go Broadband system monitors broadband sessions, tracks customer time usage, notifies the customer when the high-speed time-usage limit is nearly up and lets them pay to "top up" their bank of broadband minutes. It does so via network-based software that can be installed and brought online in a cable network in as little as three months.

CED NGB Service Allows Dial-up Users to Taste Cable Broadband
NGB has introduced a new service that enables an MSO to offer potential high-speed data customers the option to sample the service on a pay-as-you-go basis. NGB's Pay As You Go Broadband enables potential subscribers to purchase access time on a per usage basis. The system features built-in session management, tracks customer time usage, automatically notifies the customer when the time limit is being reached, and allows the customer to "top up" their account at any time.

CableWorld Technology: Smooth Operator
Back-end software promises to help customers install cable modems in 10 minutes. Cable-modem users abhor installation hassles that delay their gratification. But while self-install kits are a vast improvement over the old days, the process remains clunky, with MSOs often walking the customer through the process by phone or online. Such hand-holding ties up CSRs and adds to subscriber acquisition costs.

Cox Washington, D.C., March 28, 2006
Cox Communications has chosen NGB’s
Auto Install III™ automated subscriber activation system to enable its
high speed data subscribers to auto install cable modems and activate their broadband service without any operator intervention.

Multichannel Cox Puts 'Self' In Self-Install
Cox Communications Inc. customers are on the brink of a data self-install experience that will put new emphasis on “self.” The use of new software will mean the technology will set itself up with information provided by the customer — and with no need for a phone call to the company or a visit to its Web site.

CED Cox subs to self-install Internet services
Cox is adding the capability through a partnership with NGB, which is supplying the MSO with its "Auto Install II" automated subscriber activation system.
