NGB in the News

Founded in 2001, NGB’s software systems allow automated remote management of all IP devices on the network by the operator. This control has tremendous implications for operators for providing new services, managing existing customers, as well as self administration of services by customers--all while preserving margin.

NGB’s software systems allow automated remote management of all IP devices, such as routers, modems and PCs,  on the network by the operator. NGB’s technology is centralized network software, thereby eliminating the need for CDs, client software or expensive additional network hardware which would otherwise be required to control a device on the network. NGB’s core technology includes DACS (Device Application Control System) and SmartBridge. DACS and SmartBridge allow NGB systems to work in parallel with an operator’s existing or future systems. This parallel system architecture also means fast deployments without complex or risky changes to an operator’s curent systems.

NGB has three product lines: Automated Installation Suite, SafeHouse Security Suite and the Smart Marketing Suite. Within each of these product suites are a collection of self contained NGB systems that address specific needs of the operator. The application servers of each of these systems all leverage NGB’s core platform technology DACS and SmartBridge, which means that additional NGB products can be added quickly after the first system. Alternatively, an operator may also bundle systems as part of any deployment.

Automated Installation Suite
Auto Install – A system that fully automates service activation. Completely network based, no client software or CDs required. Customer can purchase any modem and automatically and instantly activate their service from home, without having to call the operator.
VoIP Install - A completely automated VoIP activation system enabling consumers to self-activate VoIP service. VoIP Install plugs into an operator’s existing infrastructure through NGB’s SmartBridge technology, and runs in parallel. Automatically recognizes new MTA on network, allows customer to select calling plan and features, initiates porting if required, coordinates cut over and assists customer in configuring service features.
Home Networking – Automates installation of home wireless network. Sets up SSID and encryption. Can set up multiple PC’s behind the router. Tests and verifies the home network installation.

SafeHouse Security Suite
Virus Control – Notifies customer of virus, provides patches and quarantines customer until virus is removed.
Abuse Management – Isolates abusers, requires them to take operator defined actions to return to network.
No Pay Disconnect – Alerts customer that account is past due and "soft" disconnects. Customer can then pay past due amount online. Once customer pays amount due they are automatically returned to service.
Anti Spam – Monitors outbound emails, "soft" disconnect of subscriber if threshold is exceeded. Operator then can define what messaging abuser would receive and how abuser should be handled before they are returned to primary service.

Smart Marketing Suite
Pay As You Go Broadband – Enables a customer to purchase a block of time and use service on a pay-as-you-go basis. The Pay As You Go Broadband system has built-in session management, tracks customer time usage, notifies the customer when reaching the limit and allows the customer to “top up” their account. Operator can define passes by both time and speed.
Bandwidth on Demand – A system that allows customers to dynamically purchase bandwidth in real time. For example, a customer might want to increase bandwidth for an hour while downloading a movie or other large file.
Intelligent Messaging - This system allows an operator in real-time, to communicate with a customer via the customer’s browser. Not all customers read their email and most operators need a guaranteed communication vehicle for important messages such as network outages, special offers or training. The Intelligent Messaging system will proactively place messaging within subscriber’s browser for an individual, group of customers or the entire subscriber base.
GameConnect – Enables automatic installation and activation of gaming consoles on the network. This system also enables QOS/COS for gaming applications as well as functionality to provide micropayment systems for “pay to play” and on-network gaming content downloads.
