Next Generation Broadband’s executive team has implemented more than twenty broadband systems in over six countries over the past fifteen years. NGB’s senior management have more than ninety years of combined broadband experience with leading players in the cable and broadband industry, including Road Runner, AT&T, Continental Cablevision, USWest, MediaOne, Network Solutions, Sprint, Optus and Telstra. NGB’s Senior Management Team includes:

Martin Hannes
President & CEO

Martin Hannes is the President & CEO of NGB. Before setting up NGB with his partners in early 2001, he was President of Road Runner International (a joint venture of AT&T, Time Warner, Microsoft and Compaq), one of the two major high-speed data network providers in the U.S.A. Having a strong background in the operation of HSD systems in many major international cable operators, Hannes brings a wide breadth of business and operational expertise to the group. Hannes was also involved as Managing Director of US West with direct responsibility for HSD systems in the strategic development of high speed data businesses in over seven international markets including; U.K., Japan, Singapore, Australia, Netherlands, Belgium and Taiwan.

Prior to joining USWest/MediaOne, Mr. Hannes already had significant experience in many areas of the cable television industry, having been responsible for the international operations at Continental Cablevision (one of the largest US MSOs and an early pioneer of HSD systems over CATV networks) and President of the Odyssey Channel. Hannes has, and or currently serves as Chairman of CT Telecom (Japan) and Director of Singapore Cablevision, and is a Member of the Society of Cable Television Engineers (USA).

Mr. Hannes now lives in Washington DC with his family. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from Sydney University and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Harvard University.

Tiffany Norwood
EVP Product & CMO

Tiffany Norwood is the EVP Product & CMO with Next Generation Broadband (NGB). In this role, Ms. Norwood is responsible for all of NGB’s product management and marketing endeavors.

Ms. Norwood, co-founder of NGB, has more than 12 years of telecommunications experience including roles as VP of International Business Development at World Space and Director of European Operations at Road Runner. Prior to these posts she has worked in investment banking, including leading players such as Goldman Sachs Group, Morgan Stanley and Citicorp. Her experience spans several countries, not limited to England, Germany, Spain, Ireland, Belgium, Switzerland, South Africa and The Netherlands.

Ms. Norwood has a Masters in Business Administration from Harvard University and a Bachelor’s in Economics with a concentration in statistics and electrical engineering from Cornell University.

Bruce Harrison
Corporate Strategy

Bruce, also an NGB founder, is a veteran of the telecommunications and cable TV industries. Previously Bruce was the Director of International Programs for Road Runner International and Director of Product Development for Road Runner Commercial Services. At Road Runner as well as previous positions, Bruce has focused his efforts on helping companies identify, organize and launch new businesses and services. Through his efforts, he has aided Road Runner to significantly increase its footprint and revenues, help other companies plan and launch high-speed data services and competitive local exchange carriers (CLEC) services in several large markets, and contributed to developing strategies for the introduction of new services such as VoIP into emerging markets. Bruce has 15 years of experience in the telecommunications industry. Bruce’s experience includes engineering management, program management, business development and service creation for both cable TV companies and CLECs. Previous positions include Century Communications, Antec and Sprint. Bruce has a Masters in Electrical Engineering from Columbia University and Bachelors in Electrical Engineering from Northwestern University.

Sammy Ho
Vice President, Engineering

Sammy Ho is Vice President of System Engineering of NGB. Prior to joining NGB, Sammy was Director of System Architecture at Road Runner, one the largest Broadband ISPs worldwide. At Road Runner, Sammy’s lead the development and upgrade of Road Runner’s core technology to support growth in excess of 1 million subscribers. His efforts specifically lead to the deployment of Road Runner’s next generation data center architecture, the deployment of multiple ISP technology and implementation of new capabilities such as user account provisioning, tiered services, dial-roaming and spam filtering.

Prior to joining Road Runner, Sammy held various positions at Network Solutions (NSI) – the only Internet Domain Registrar at the time. While at Network Solutions, Sammy lead the migration from NSI’s registry system to a more scalable and more reliable global infrastructure including the implementation of disaster recovery technology. Sammy’s other contributions included a number of software upgrades and performance improvements on widely used Internet applications such as WhoIs and NSI’s DNS Zone management system.

Other positions include roles at Perot System, Computer Associates and Bell Atlantic Video Services where Sammy worked on various data center based systems and applications. Sammy has a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Alabama and B.S. in Physics and Electronics Engineering from Yangzhou Shifan University.

Ross Martin Photo

Ross Martin
Vice President, Operations

Ross, Vice President of Operations at NGB, is a seasoned executive with an extensive history of managing and implementing large, complex projects including the broadband acceleration program at Telstra including sales, marketing, customer care, IT system development and network infrastructure. Ross was also Telstra’s principal project manager for the Sydney 2000 Olympics providing project management for the implementation of all fixed mobile, data and video links.

Ross has extensive experience as an operations and program manager in international telecommunications including extensive involvement in satellite and fibre optic submarine cable systems and their supporting infrastructure. At NGB Ross provides Program and Operations Support Management of NGB’s product implementation program working with the customer to ensure smooth implementation of well supported products.

In his personal life Ross has provided extensive emergency service management support to local community organisations over a period of 15 years gaining Australia’s National Medal for community service. Ross is married with 3 children and 5 grandchildren.

John Herron Photo

John Herron
Vice President, Sales

John has been active in the telecommunications industry for the past 20 years. He held executive sales and marketing positions with Teradyne, Inc. and Tellabs, Inc., responsible for major account sales to tier 1 telecom and MSO service providers. His sales background also includes start up ventures in the optical networking segment of the industry. John’s most recent position prior to joining NGB in 2007 was with the Telecommunications Division of Teradyne, based in Deerfield, IL where he headed Teradyne’s sales activities to the major North American MSOs.

Mairin Brzica
Director of Sales, North America

Previously, Mairin served as Director of Sales for Ruckus Network, Inc., a digital entertainment service for colleges and universities. She joined Ruckus in 2005 and helped grow Ruckus to over 200 universities.

Mairin also worked as an Account Manager for Sun Microsystems in Chicago, IL serving the Motorola account team. Mairin joined Sun in 1998 as part of a new college graduate training program. She worked for Sun Microsystems for five years in various sales and marketing positions before returning to graduate school.

Mairin received a bachelor’s degree in Marketing from Boston College. She also holds an MBA from Babson College and a Masters in Broadcast Journalism from Boston University.

Nataleeja Efimoff
Commercial Operations Manager

Nataleeja Efimoff is Commercial Operations Manager for Next Generation Broadband. In this role, Nataleeja is responsible for the organization’s day-to-day financial operations and internal administration. She serves as a primary liaison to NGB’s external clients and manages the company’s internship program. Nataleeja joined NGB in 2006, and has held a number of positions in accounting and administration over the last four years. A graduate of the George Washington University, Nataleeja holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and International Affairs. During her undergraduate education, she held several internships in Washington DC, served on the board of Alpha Phi Omega, and participated in the distinguished Elizabeth Somers Women’s Leadership Program. A native of Washington, Nataleeja sits on the board of the Washington State Society and enjoys playing tennis and sailing in her free time.

Jim Fluckiger
Director, Software Development

Jim comes to NGB with 15 years of experience in the design, development, and management of enterprise software systems. Before NGB, he was with Road Runner for 5 years, serving as Principal Technology Engineer. In this role Jim was the hands-on technical lead for Road Runner Provisioning Systems, designing and managing a series of product releases to bring functional and operational enhancements, standardization, and stability to the Road Runner broadband provisioning infrastructure. Jim is well versed in broadband OSS systems and EAI practices and has worked with many of the products and vendors in this space. Before he joined Road Runner, Jim was at Prodigy Services for 10 years, where he helped build critical systems for the groundbreaking ISP. There, he was the lead for back-office systems such as Ad Queues and Bulletin Boards, and client-facing programs, including Login and the Prodigy Web Browser. Jim has a Master’s Degree in English Li terature from Columbia University, and a Bachelor’s Degree in English from Boston University.
